Our story
Nyakoma Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to transforming the healthcare landscape in Ghana through the power of preventative care. Founded to address the urgent need for early detection and health education, Nyakoma Foundation brings hope to underserved communities across the country.
The Foundation draws inspiration from the remarkable life and work of Apostle Dr. Ing. Kwadwo Safo, whose contributions to science, innovation, and humanitarian service continue to empower generations of Ghanaians. His legacy of selfless service and commitment to human well-being fuels our drive to make healthcare accessible to all.
In Ghana, while medical advancements have improved healthcare outcomes in many areas, the accessibility of preventative healthcare remains a challenge. Studies show that a significant percentage of the population lacks access to regular screenings, which are essential in detecting potential health issues before they become life-threatening. This gap in healthcare access often leads to delayed diagnoses, costly treatments, and, tragically, avoidable deaths.
Recognizing the pressing need for change, Nyakoma Foundation was established with the vision of creating a healthier, more informed Ghana. The foundation works tirelessly to bridge the gap in healthcare access by offering free or low-cost health screenings, particularly in rural and underserved regions. By bringing preventative care directly to communities, Nyakoma Foundation ensures that individuals, regardless of their location or socio-economic status, have access to the screenings they need to detect conditions like cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and other preventable diseases early on.
But Nyakoma Foundation’s work doesn’t stop at screenings alone. Through its community outreach programs, the foundation is dedicated to educating the public on the importance of regular health checks and the role they play in preventing illness. The foundation empowers individuals with knowledge about their health, helping them make informed decisions that lead to healthier lifestyles. By fostering a culture of proactive health management, Nyakoma is not only saving lives today but also helping to create sustainable change for future generations.
At the heart of Nyakoma Foundation’s vision is the belief that access to healthcare should not be a privilege—it should be a fundamental right. The foundation envisions a Ghana where every individual has access to the necessary tools and resources to monitor and maintain their health, and where preventable diseases are detected and treated early, saving lives and reducing the burden on the healthcare system.
With each screening, each educational workshop, and each community partnership, Nyakoma Foundation is taking bold steps toward achieving this vision. The foundation’s impact is already evident in the many lives it has touched, and as it continues to grow, it remains committed to breaking down the barriers that prevent so many Ghanaians from accessing the healthcare they deserve.
Through its mission and vision, Nyakoma Foundation is leading the charge in reshaping the future of healthcare in Ghana—one screening, one life, and one community at a time.
Why we Exist
In Ghana, only 20% of the population has access to regular preventative healthcare. This gap results in delayed diagnoses and avoidable deaths. Nyakoma Foundation exists to close that gap.

…it takes a village
At Nyakoma Foundation, we believe that health is not a privilege—it is a right. Our work is about more than just screenings; it’s about restoring dignity, offering hope, and building a future where no Ghanaian is left behind because of preventable illness. Thank you for walking this journey with us. Together, we are transforming lives—one screening, one community at a time.
“Prevention is power. When we invest in early detection, we invest in life itself. Let’s keep pushing boundaries, creating access and building a healthier Ghana for generations to come.”
